स्वोदय मतानुसार मेषादि सभी लग्नों के मान या अवधि में भिन्नता रहती है, लेकिन भाव मतानुसार सभी लग्नों के मान बराबर होते हैं। पृथ्वी पर २४ घंटे का सावन दिन या अहोरात्र होता है। पृथ्वी इस अवधि में एक बार अपने अक्ष पर घूम जाती है, अतः पृथ्वी के किसी भी निश्चित विन्दु या स्थान के सामने खगोल स्थित नक्षत्र, तारे या राशि पुनः २४ घंटे के बाद ही सामने आता है, इसलिए सभी १२ राशियों का मान बराबर होगा क्योंकि सभी १२ राशियों का अंशादि मान स्वोदय लग्न मान के अनुसार भी ३० अंशों या डिग्री का ही माना जाता है‌, जबकि उन १२ राशियों का घंटादि मान परस्पर भिन्न बताया गया है। इस प्रकार स्वोदय लग्न के घंटादि तथा अंशादि मान में विसंगति पायी जाती है, लेकिन भाव लग्नों के हर राशियों अंशादि मान ३० हैं, तो घंटादि मान २ घंटे के हैं, महर्षि पराशर जी ने भी इस भाव लग्न को मान्यता दी है, फलस्वरूप भाव लग्न विसंगति रहित, वैध, विश्वसनीय और हर तरह से स्वीकार्य है‌। भाव लग्न को नहीं मानकर स्वोदय लग्न को मानने वाले को ज्योतिर्विद कमलाकर भट्ट ने लग्न विवेक में अन्धों के पीछे चलने वाले अन्धों से सम्बोधित किया है। अतः स्वोदय लग्न के स्थान पर भाव लग्न का ही सभी विद्वान ज्योतिर्विदों द्वारा गणित एवं फलित ज्योतिष या अन्य विधाओं में विश्व कल्याणार्थ उपयोग में लाना चाहिए।
